Nine TV's and One Chair.

This intallation was build for the Blikopener Festival in Delft 2006.

The basic concept is that analogue sound signals are fed to 9 TV's, the TV's treat the signals as video input, thus converting the sound into light.
The light being emitted from the screen is than picked-up by light sensors and
after losing some information and gaining some noise the signals are converted back into sound and send back to the tv's, closing the circle. The viewer sits in a chair that is equiped with electro-motors which react on the sounds, making the chair shake and move around the space.

Quadra TV

The basic concept is that analogue sound signals are fed to 4 TV's, the TV's treat the signals as video input, thus converting the sound into light.
The light being emitted from the screen is than picked-up by light sensors and
after losing some information and gaining some noise the signals are converted back into sound and send back to the tv's, closing the circle.

QuadraTv can run as a standalone installation is used in a performance setting.

Chair 005

Chair 005 is an installation by Feedbacksociety member Renzo van Steenbergen where the viewer sits in a chair in front of a TV screen. On top of the TV is a camera filming the person in the chair which is being displayed on the TV so the person in the chair sees himself. In front of the person in the in the chair is a microphone hanging. Any sound made by the person in the chair is being processed and played over a speaker under the TV. The sound also controlles electro-motors attached to the chair making it shake violently and the sound-signal also disturbes the image on the TV. This creates a funny interaction between the person in the chair, the chair, the sound and the image...

Chair 006
Chair 006 is the latest installation in the series of interactive chairs by Renzo van Steenbergen.
The work is part of a researchproject about the relationship between sound, image and vibration.
The public can play the chair like an instrument with two controllers in the arms of the chair. The controllers control the soundprocessing of the sounds picked up by a microphone and this information is being used to define the vibration-speed and imageprocessing.

A/V blocks

is a spatial kinetic sound-and lightsculpture with a set-up of 8 centrally controlled light and sound units.
These units are made out of 8 recycled liquid containers of one cubic meter in size, each containing one speaker and one lightsourse.
The lights follow the sound as it travels along all containers.
Both sound and light are controlled and programmed by a computer using Maxmsp.

A/V blocks was created by feedbacksociety in coorperation with wastematerial-architect Denis Oudendijk. ( Refunc )
